qUADRovECTRo VSTi (SoftSynth Vector Synthesis Analog Subtractive)

qUADRovECTRo

SoftSynth Vector Synthesizer with analog oscillators, Moog(C) filters, and joystick's.

The development of this synthesizer was a new level for me ... Prior to Quadro Vectro, I did not make any synthesizers with a joystick and, especially, vector synthesizers. I found a definition of the term “vector synthesizer” on the Internet and, starting SynthEdit, I started creating the “Quadro Vectro”. At first I just wanted to make a vector synthesizer of 4 oscillators, based on my old “4OSC” synthesizer circuit. Then I decided to add 2 additional oscillators and make a vector version of my other circuit called “6OSC” (These synthesizers were created by me like 3xOsc(C) from FL Studio(C), although they were additive tools that were not like this subtractive synthesizer). As a result, “Quadro Vector” almost became “Pseudo Quadro Vectro”. But, a week after the start of development, 2 additional oscillators were removed, the 4 remaining oscillators were eliminated, but 1 filter was added, simulating a low-pass hardware filter from Moog synthesizers, as well as an LFO to create specific effects (vibrato, sequence, etc. ) In short, the development of this synthesizer took many times more time, and I even had to abandon many of my other projects in order to finish work on it.

Initially, I simply created an analog, vector experimental synthesizer designed to create complex, abstract sounds, but ... during its debugging, I randomly twisted the filter knobs and switched the toggle switches of the LFO, with great amazement I realized that this instrument ... sings with a human voice - he can sing like a man! This unexpected discovery, to be honest, made me laugh several times while I was preparing blanks for him. Because in a number of cases the emulation of male, female and even children's human voices was simply amazingly accurate. Filters imitating Moog filtering just work wonders, making the sound of 4 analog oscillators so vibrant and human that ... I can’t even explain how my Quadro Vectro does it all. But, remembering that I was still making a vector, not a vocal synthesizer, I deleted the LFO, added 2 more joysticks, and reworked the circuit. And now this device is simply an analog vector synthesizer. And I’ll try to do the vocal synthesizer somehow later.

I added 16 workpieces with oscillators tuned both clockwise and counterclockwise, but they themselves are primitive and all their cine is felt only when moving the handle of one of the three joysticks. The upper joystick is responsible for mixing 1-2 and 3-4 groups of oscillators. The central joystick changes the PWM oscillators (Pulse Width, Modulation). And the bottom one is the cutoff level of 2 Moog(C) filters. You can fine-tune MIDI parameters (mono mode, retriger, portamento). frequency analyzers for each oscillator and filter, and luminous bulbs that light up each time you press the keys on the MIDI keyboard. An experimental tool designed for research on vector synthesis.

01/06/2020: I made a big change in the interface of the working panel of this synthesizer of mine, now it has a more convenient and traditional look. Added: standard piano keyboard with sticky keys and an oscilloscope for both groups of oscillators. Unfortunately, the interface has become larger, so I recommend using this synthesizer on FullHD monitors.

Normal working in Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8 & Windows 10 Pro x64

Attention!
  1. This synthesizer DOES NOT WORK correctly in FL Studio 20! When you try to play the recorded notes in the sequencer or piano clips, this plug-in VSTi starts to “stutter” and “pop”. I urge you NOT to USE it in FL Studio. In the coming year I will try to solve this problem. To record music with it, use Cubase (tested full functionality on Cubase 5)
  2. During its launch in host or sequencer, this synthesizer extracts files with the extension * .SEP and * .SEM. These files are NOT malware, but are separate synthesizer modules. They DO NOT harm your system.
